Time Out Names The William Vale the Best Hotel With a View in NYC
We’ve always thought Brooklyn offers a different view of New York, and Time Out New York agrees. The William Vale is No. 1 on Time Out’s list of the best hotels in New York City with a view. Every one of our rooms opens onto a private balcony, and Westlight, our rooftop bar on the 22nd floor, looks out over Manhattan, the East River, and the Williamsburg Bridge. Here’s what Time Out said, and how to plan a stay around the skyline.
TL;DR: Time Out New York ranked The William Vale No. 1 among NYC hotels with a view.
- Time Out named us first in The 15 Best Hotels in New York City With a View, then followed up with a feature on our views.
- Every room at the hotel has its own private balcony.
- Rooms are listed with city or neighborhood views, so you can choose your outlook when you book.
- Westlight, on our 22nd floor, looks across the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and the Williamsburg Bridge.
- Vale Park gives you 15,000 square feet of landscaped gardens with skyline views, and Vale Pool opens seasonally.
- We’re a short walk from the L at Bedford Avenue and the G at Nassau Avenue.
What Time Out said

In The 15 Best Hotels in New York City With a View, Time Out contributors Anya Ryan and Liv Kelly placed us at the top of the list, singling out the views from our private balconies. Gerrish Lopez followed with a feature naming our views the best in the city, This New York City Hotel Has the Best Views in the Whole City, Say Time Out Experts, and summed it up in one line: “William Vale remains unmatched for balcony views.”
We’re proud to add it to our awards and press, alongside our place among U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hotels in NYC for 2026.
A private balcony in every room

Every room at The William Vale has its own private balcony, so the skyline is there for your first coffee of the day and for a last drink before bed. Floor-to-ceiling windows keep the view in sight indoors, too.
Our rooms are listed with either city views or neighborhood views. If Manhattan is the reason for your trip, choose a city-view room when you book. Neighborhood-view rooms look over Brooklyn’s rooftops and streets, a side of the city many of our guests love just as much. For more space, take a look at our suites.
Westlight, 22 floors up

Westlight is where the view opens all the way out. Our rooftop bar sits on the 22nd floor, with 360-degree views across the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and Brooklyn. Craft cocktails and globally inspired small plates make it an easy place to spend the evening, and it’s open to hotel guests and visitors alike. Time Out also pointed out our complimentary bright-yellow viewers, handy for picking out landmarks across the river.
Westlight opens at 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. We recommend reserving ahead, especially around sunset, on weekends, and on holidays. The dress code is smart casual.

More places to take in the skyline

The skyline follows you around the hotel. Vale Park, our 15,000 square feet of landscaped gardens, looks toward Manhattan and welcomes dogs. In warmer months, Vale Pool, our 60-foot outdoor pool, adds long afternoons in the sun with the city in the distance. The pool is seasonal and closed for the year, so keep an eye on our amenities page for reopening dates.
When it’s time for dinner, Leuca serves southern Italian cooking, including the Neapolitan-style pizzas and pastas Time Out singled out.
Planning your stay around the view
A few ways to make the most of it:
- Book a city-view room for a direct line to the Manhattan skyline from your balcony.
- Reserve Westlight for sunset, when the light moves across the river and the city starts to glow.
- Spend the afternoon in Vale Park, then head up to Westlight after dark.
- Check our current offers before you book.
You’ll find us at 111 N 12th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The MTA L train stops at Bedford Avenue and the G train at Nassau Avenue, both a short walk away, so Manhattan is close by whenever you want it. For more on the hotel, read Inside The William Vale: Brooklyn From a New Perspective.
